IMPORTANT NOTICE TO COMMERCIAL CANNABIS
CULTIVATION PERMIT APPLICANTS

On November 26, 2019, the Board of Supervisors was served with Calaveras County Superior Court Case No. 19CV44446, a lawsuit challenging its adoption of the commercial cannabis cultivation ordinance and arguing that the County’s environmental document for this ordinance violates the California Environmental Quality Act.

The County is defending its commercial cannabis regulatory program against this challenge and encourages applicants to seek independent advice about the potential impact of this litigation on any permits issued while it is pending.
